As we gear up for the holidays, many local students are struggling to stay fed and make ends meet. This winter, you can help to provide food and other basic items for local middle and high school students.

In November and December, you can stop by most City Library locations to find a Giving Tree. Take a tag with a list of needed items, then drop off your donations at the same Library by December 31.

Each library will be collecting for a different school:

Main Library · Bryant Middle School
Anderson-Foothill · Highland High
Ballpark Library Lab · Horizonte Instruction & Training Center
Day-Riverside · SLCSE (Salt Lake Center for Science Education)
Glendale · Glendale Middle School
Marmalade · West High
Sprague · Highland High

Many local high school students do not have enough to eat, without reliable access to regular meals. Feeding America reports 13.6% of Salt Lake County households experience food insecurity; 14.2% statewide. Half of Salt Lake School District children qualify for free and reduced price meals according to Utahns Against Hunger.
