Help stock food pantries at Salt Lake high schools.
This winter, you can support local students with the Giving Tree program. You’ll find Giving Trees at most City Library locations. Take a tag with a list of needed items, then drop off your donations at the Library.
Giving Trees will be at the Main Library and the Anderson-Foothill, Chapman, Day-Riverside, Marmalade, and Sprague branches from December 1, 2022–January 31, 2023.
Items will be donated to Highland, East, and West High, and the Salt Lake Center for Science Education.
Many local high school students do not have enough to eat, without reliable access to regular meals. Some students are bussed to school from homeless shelters, and Salt Lake City schools have a large refugee population. Your donations will help these students year-round.
What a year! Looking back on 2020, The City Library would like to share our immense gratitude for our thoughtful, dedicated, and resilient staff. They continue to work so hard to meet our communities’ needs during these challenging times. Learn more about your City Library’s resources and services at slcpl.org/hereforyou.
From the archives: photos of City Library staff in costumes throughout the years! How many of you recognize the old Main Library building? Many of the building’s features have been preserved by its new resident, The Leonardo Museum.
